by G. George | October 20, 2026

U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement arrested Abdi Ilmi, a criminal illegal alien from Somalia, in Jamestown, North Dakota, on charges of a sex offense against a child involving fondling.

Sexual offenses against a child involving fondling are grave felonies under North Dakota law carrying mandatory lengthy prison sentences and lifetime sex offender registration requirements. Crimes involving the sexual abuse of children are among the most severely prosecuted under both state and federal law, and criminal illegal aliens convicted of such offenses face both criminal punishment and mandatory removal proceedings.

ICE Enforcement and Removal Operations officers apprehended Ilmi in Jamestown. He currently remains in federal immigration custody and faces removal proceedings before a Department of Justice immigration judge, with potential deportation back to Somalia.
