Mario Alberto Garcia-Givran, a 32-year-old citizen of Mexico, was arrested by ICE Enforcement and Removal Operations (ERO) Harlingen officers for illegal reentry into the United States. Garcia-Givran has a long history of immigration violations and violent criminal behavior, making him a priority for immigration enforcement actions.

Garcia-Givran has been convicted six times for illegal entry into the U.S., demonstrating a repeated disregard for federal immigration law. In addition to these violations, he has also been convicted twice for aggravated assault on a family member—charges that highlight a pattern of domestic violence and raise serious concerns for public safety. Despite multiple removals from the country, Garcia has continued to reenter without inspection or legal authorization.

Following his latest arrest, ICE officials confirmed his prior deportations and convictions. He will now be referred for federal prosecution under 8 USC §1326, which addresses the criminal offense of reentry after removal. If convicted, Garcia-Givran could face additional prison time before being removed once again.

Garcia-Givran is currently being held in ICE custody as he awaits legal proceedings. His case underscores the agency’s continued focus on removing individuals with a history of violent crimes and repeat immigration violations.
