Davaine McKenzie
Davaine McKenzie/Jamaica/DUI, Domestic Violence
Davaine McKenzie, a foreign national from Jamaica who entered the United States on a B2 visitor visa, was arrested by Enforcement and Removal Operations (ERO) New Orleans after significantly overstaying his visa. Records show that McKenzie’s B2 visa expired in October 2019, and he failed to depart the country as required by federal immigration law. Since overstaying his visa, McKenzie has been involved in multiple criminal incidents, including serious offenses that pose risks to public safety.
According to arrest documentation and court records, McKenzie has been charged with felony flight to avoid, which typically involves fleeing from law enforcement officers in a manner that endangers others or obstructs justice. In addition, he has been arrested for domestic violence, a crime that involves physical harm or threats against a family or household member. These charges reflect patterns of violent behavior that ICE officials cite when making custody and removal decisions.
McKenzie’s criminal history also includes a DUI charge, adding further to the list of public safety concerns associated with his continued presence in the United States. His arrest follows a targeted enforcement action by ICE agents focused on identifying noncitizens with overstayed visas who have committed serious crimes while unlawfully remaining in the country.
Following his arrest, McKenzie was taken into ICE custody, where he will remain pending the outcome of removal proceedings. Federal officials are pursuing his deportation on the basis of both immigration violations and his criminal record.
