Charlie Jarquin-Asnavin/Nicaragua/Robbery, Aggravated Assault, Domestic Abuse

Charlie Jarquin-Asnavin, a citizen of Nicaragua, was arrested by ERO New Orleans following a pattern of serious and violent criminal behavior. Jarquin-Asnavin entered the United States illegally and built a criminal history involving a wide range of dangerous offenses. Among the most serious is a charge for armed robbery, an aggravated felony involving the use of a weapon to threaten or harm others while committing theft. He was also charged with aggravated assault with a firearm, a violent crime indicating he posed a serious risk to individuals and law enforcement.

His record further includes illegal carrying of weapons, illegal use of weapons, and resisting arrest—demonstrating repeated disregard for public safety and lawful authority. He was also arrested for battery, domestic abuse, and refusing to identify himself to officers, all while maintaining fugitive status. Jarquin-Asnavin was additionally charged with reckless operation of a vehicle, damage to property, and other public safety threats.

Given the scope and severity of his criminal history, ICE officers took him into custody to ensure he could be removed from the country. Jarquin-Asnavin is currently being held pending immigration proceedings. His case represents one of the more egregious patterns of criminal conduct encountered by ICE’s enforcement teams this year.
