Angel David Samayoa-Sierra/Honduras/Failure to Self Deport
ICE San Antonio arrested Angel David Samayoa-Sierra, a 40-year-old citizen of Honduras and an illegal alien present in the United States. Samayoa-Sierra has a final order of removal that was issued in 2013. Despite being instructed to depart the U.S. voluntarily, he failed to comply with that directive and remained in the country unlawfully for over a decade.
Samayoa-Sierra was located and apprehended by officers with Enforcement and Removal Operations (ERO) in San Antonio during a targeted enforcement action. His arrest follows a history of noncompliance with immigration authorities, including his willful disregard of a federal immigration judge’s order to leave the country. ICE records show that Samayoa-Sierra made no effort to follow through with the departure instructions tied to his 2013 order.
Since then, he continued to reside in the U.S. without lawful status and without taking the necessary steps to resolve his immigration case. Upon arrest, he was taken into ICE custody and transported to a detention facility pending execution of his final removal order. ICE has confirmed that removal proceedings are actively underway and that Samayoa-Sierra will be deported to Honduras.
His failure to comply with U.S. immigration law for more than ten years is a central factor in ICE’s determination to detain him without bond until his removal can be completed.
