U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement New York arrested Jeng Seet Chan, a citizen of China, February 19, 2025. Chan has been convicted of second-degree murder and sentenced to 25 years in prison.

On January 23, 2025, ICE officers, with help from the Needham Police Department, arrested a female Chinese national in Massachusetts. She is wanted in China for multiple charges, including embezzlement, criminal conversion, fraud, and felony drug trafficking. The woman had lawfully entered the United States as a temporary visitor in May 2019 and was supposed to leave by August 2019, but she overstayed.

ICE identified her as a foreign fugitive unlawfully residing in the U.S. According to ICE, her arrest underscores their ongoing commitment to apprehending individuals involved in serious criminal activity who attempt to evade justice by living in the U.S. without legal status.

ICE continues to collaborate with local law enforcement agencies to locate and detain such fugitives.
