Isaias Costilla/Mexico/Aggravated Assault, Burglary, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia
Isaias Costilla, a 36-year-old citizen of Mexico and an illegal alien in the United States, was arrested by Enforcement and Removal Operations (ERO) New Orleans. Costilla has an extensive and violent criminal record that includes two separate convictions for aggravated assault, both involving the use or threat of deadly force against victims. These offenses occurred during unrelated incidents and involved both physical injury and the use of a weapon.
In addition to these assaults, Costilla was convicted of aggravated burglary for unlawfully entering a residence with intent to commit a violent crime while armed. During the course of the burglary, significant property damage was reported, contributing to his conviction for vandalism as well. Costilla also has two separate convictions for methamphetamine-related violations, stemming from his possession and suspected distribution of the controlled substance. Authorities recovered methamphetamine and related paraphernalia at the time of his arrest.
Further adding to his record are convictions for criminal trespassing and two counts of possession of drug paraphernalia, all committed while Costilla was unlawfully present in the U.S. He has also been cited for driving without a license, continuing a pattern of disregard for U.S. laws. ICE officers arrested Costilla following his release from local custody, where he had served time for multiple offenses. He is currently being held in ICE custody and will remain detained pending the outcome of his immigration proceedings.
