Sansone Sourinthong, a 40-year-old citizen of Laos and an illegal alien in the United States, was arrested by ICE New Orleans during an enforcement operation targeting criminal noncitizens. Sourinthong has a criminal record spanning several years and multiple offenses across different jurisdictions. His history includes convictions and arrests for possession of narcotic equipment, battery, criminal impersonation, and obstructing governmental operations. He has also failed to appear in court on multiple occasions and has been cited for possession of drug paraphernalia.

Sourinthong came to ICE’s attention after being taken into local custody for obstruction and battery. A review of his record revealed an extensive pattern of criminal conduct, including impersonating others to avoid detection and repeated drug-related violations. He had no lawful immigration status and had previously evaded court-ordered appearances, increasing his risk level in ICE custody classification.

Following his transfer to ICE custody, officers initiated removal proceedings. Sourinthong will remain detained at an ICE facility in Louisiana pending the outcome of his immigration hearing. If ordered removed by an immigration judge, ICE will coordinate with the government of Laos to carry out his deportation.

Due to the serious nature and frequency of his offenses, Sourinthong’s case was prioritized for enforcement. ICE has confirmed he is a flight risk and public threat due to his pattern of disregard for law enforcement and court processes.
