Despite resistance from progressive politicians, leftist groups and never-ending legal challenges, the Trump administration has prioritized sealing the southern border and reversing years of unfettered illegal immigration.
In a news release issued Tuesday, White House officials recapped some of President Donald Trump’s key achievements during the first two years of his second term.
Voters returned Trump to the Oval Office with a clear mandate to end the border invasion, return law and order to America’s immigration system and remove criminal illegals from the country.
The numbers don’t lie on the immigration and border security front. The country’s illegal immigrant population has fallen by an estimated 2.3 million, according to various reports.
In 2025, the United States recorded negative net migration for the first time in at least 50 years.
In total, more than three million migrants have left the country so far during President Trump’s second term. Nearly 1.2 million illegal migrants have been deported or removed, officials said.
“In less than two years, the Trump Administration has delivered the largest reduction in the illegal alien population in modern history, driven illegal crossings to an all-time low, and enacted sweeping reforms that finally put American citizens first,” The White House said.
In addition, U.S. Customs and Border Protection delivered 17 straight months of zero releases at the border, translating into a 95% drop in southwest border apprehensions compared to the Biden administration.
Besides ending President Joe Biden’s disastrous catch-and-release policies, entries by asylum seekers at U.S.-Mexico entry points were slashed by 99.9%, White House officials said.
Asylum is now granted in just 7% of cases, down from more than 50% under Biden.
The successful Remain in Mexico policy was also reinstated, and the Trump administration expanded third-country removal agreements with dozens of nations to expedite deportations.
The Trump administration also prevailed in its fight to end Temporary Protected Status despite an onslaught of legal challenges blocking the move. TPS was terminated for 13 countries, including Somalia, Venezuela and Haiti.
DHS officials have prioritized finding hundreds of thousands of unaccompanied alien children who were lost under Biden’s DHS.
Authorities have located more than 157,000 children so far and continue to track down their whereabouts as well as uncover widespread fraud in the UAC program, according to a recent House Oversight committee roundtable.
In addition, migration from majority-Muslim countries has dropped a whopping 96% since 2024 and overall migration has been roughly cut in half, with visa issuances down 89% for Africa and 81% for the Middle East.
The U.S. Department of State has tightened visa requirements, and the U.S. Department of Justice continues to pursue denaturalization cases against suspected fraudsters and criminals.
More than 300,000 visas have been revoked, including at least 4,000 tied to birth tourism and 6,000 from foreign students who committed crimes or have ties to terrorism.
The White House posted on X: “The Trump admin has revoked more visas at a faster pace than ANY ADMIN IN HISTORY. There is absolutely ZERO tolerance for foreign nationals on visas who violate the law, commit fraud, or threaten national security.”

When it comes to making America safe again, U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement continues to round up illegal gangbangers and focus on “the worst of the worst” violent offenders.
More than 12,100 gang members have been arrested, including more than 1,500 Tren de Aragua affiliates and nearly 2,000 MS-13 affiliates, according to DHS.
Another 2,200 known or suspected terrorists have been located, including more than 2,000 of whom have been removed from the country, DHS officials announced in September.
The Trump administration also has taken an aggressive stance against foreign terrorist organizations and stopping the flow of drugs into the country by international drug cartels.
Nearly one million pounds of narcotics have been seized through CBP in fiscal year 2026, which is a 63% increase from the prior four-year average, and more than 624,000 pounds have been interdicted by the U.S. Coast Guard.
Fentanyl trafficking at the southern border dropped by 56%, and fentanyl-linked deaths plunged 22% in a single year, DHS officials said.
President Trump also designated illicit fentanyl and its core precursors as Weapons of Mass Destruction, enabling harsher penalties, expanding seizure authorities and “treating this poison with the full force of national security tools.”
As a result, drug overdoses have dropped by more than 40% from the Biden-era peak, while CBP and federal agents continue to make massive drug seizures at U.S. ports of entry.
