ICE Chicago recently arrested Daniel Alejandro Parra-Pina, a 20-year-old citizen of Venezuela who is illegally present in the United States. Parra-Pina’s arrest comes as part of ICE’s ongoing operations focusing on foreign nationals with criminal histories that pose threats to public safety and compliance with U.S. immigration laws.

Parra-Pina has accumulated a series of criminal arrests in Illinois, underscoring his disregard for both criminal statutes and immigration regulations. His record includes an arrest for drug possession, an offense often associated with broader criminal networks and illicit distribution activities. In addition to narcotics-related charges, Parra-Pina has been arrested for illegal possession of ammunition—a significant public safety concern given the potential for firearms-related violence.

Further complicating his legal standing, Parra-Pina has been charged with possession of cannabis in a vehicle, reflecting continued violations of state law. He has also faced legal consequences for operating an uninsured vehicle, which can endanger other motorists and demonstrates additional noncompliance with legal requirements.

ICE officers apprehended Parra-Pina without incident, placing him into custody to ensure he does not continue engaging in criminal behavior while his immigration status is resolved. He remains in ICE detention pending removal proceedings before an immigration judge, who will determine whether he is eligible for any relief from removal or will be returned to Venezuela.

Given the combination of drug, firearm-related, and vehicular offenses in Parra-Pina’s record, ICE has prioritized his case to mitigate ongoing risks to community safety.
