Ricardo Rodriguez/Mexico/Battery, DUI, Repeat Offender

by G. George | August 01, 2025

On July 16, 2025, ICE San Diego arrested Ricardo Rodriguez, a Mexican national with a repeated history of criminal activity and immigration violations. Rodriguez has prior convictions for battery, driving under the influence, and illegal reentry after removal. His arrest follows a pattern of offenses that render him removable under federal immigration law. He is currently in ICE custody pending removal proceedings.

Battery is classified as a crime involving moral turpitude, while illegal reentry after deportation is a federal felony offense. Rodriguez’s DUI conviction adds to a growing record of endangerment to the public and disregard for U.S. laws. His repeat violations of immigration and criminal statutes make him a priority for enforcement action.

ICE has not released the full details of Rodriguez’s prior deportations or the jurisdictions in which his convictions occurred. However, based on the seriousness and recurrence of his offenses, ICE officers initiated enforcement efforts leading to his arrest. He was taken into custody without incident and will remain detained until a final determination is made by an immigration judge.

Due to the combination of violent and immigration-related offenses, Rodriguez is expected to be found ineligible for relief and removed from the United States. Federal law bars him from returning.
