Kevin Contreras-Mendoza/Mexico/Sexual Abuse, Coercion, Domestic Violence, Theft

by G. George | August 03, 2025

On July 16, 2025, ICE Seattle arrested Kevin Contreras-Mendoza, a 27-year-old citizen of Mexico, due to his extensive criminal record in Oregon. Contreras-Mendoza has a documented history of arrests for theft, domestic violence, and trespassing, and was convicted in Multnomah County of coercion and sexual abuse. He is currently in ICE custody pending removal proceedings.

The conviction for sexual abuse is considered a serious aggravated felony under immigration law, particularly when involving force, coercion, or a vulnerable victim. His additional conviction for coercion and repeated arrests for violent and disruptive behavior—including domestic violence—reflect a continued pattern of criminal conduct that endangers those around him. These offenses make him subject to mandatory detention and ineligible for most forms of immigration relief.

ICE has not disclosed when Contreras-Mendoza unlawfully entered the United States or how long he has been residing in Oregon. However, the gravity of his crimes led to targeted enforcement action by ICE officers. He was arrested without incident and is being held at an ICE detention facility where he will await a hearing before an immigration judge.

Given the nature and frequency of his offenses, Contreras-Mendoza is expected to be found removable and deported from the United States following the conclusion of his proceedings.
