Gilberto Quintanilla-Alvarez/Honduras/Felony Menacing, Domestic Violence, Harassment
Gilberto Quintanilla-Alvarez, a 36-year-old citizen of Honduras, was arrested by ICE Denver officers. Quintanilla-Alvarez is a previously removed criminal alien who illegally reentered the United States after being deported. His extensive criminal history includes convictions for felony menacing, domestic violence, and harassment. In addition to his prior convictions, he is currently the subject of an open warrant in Texas.
Quintanilla-Alvarez’s violent offenses date back several years and include incidents involving threats with weapons and physical assaults in domestic settings. His felony menacing conviction stems from a case in which he used intimidation and threats to instill fear in a victim. Prior domestic violence charges and harassment convictions further demonstrate his continued disregard for lawful behavior and the safety of others. Despite prior removal from the country, he illegally returned and remained active in criminal behavior.
Following his recent arrest by ICE in Colorado, Quintanilla-Alvarez has been placed back in ICE custody. He is now awaiting immigration removal proceedings and will be held without bond until those proceedings are completed. Due to the severity of his record and repeated violations of both criminal and immigration law, he will not be released back into the community.
