Taha Murad Ibrahim Alsheyab/Jordan/Reckless Endangerment, Reckless Driving
Taha Murad Ibrahim Alsheyab, a citizen of Jordan, was arrested by ICE New Orleans officers due to his repeated disregard for public safety and numerous traffic-related offenses. Alsheyab, described as an “aspiring Nascar driver” by some local reports, has built a criminal record that includes convictions or arrests for reckless endangerment, reckless driving, evading arrest, drag racing, and failure to obey traffic control devices.
Alsheyab’s conduct has drawn concern from both local authorities and immigration enforcement, as his street racing activities and defiance of police instructions posed serious threats to pedestrians, motorists, and law enforcement. In one instance, Alsheyab was reportedly clocked at dangerously high speeds while weaving through traffic, ultimately attempting to flee officers before being apprehended.
Upon arrest, ICE determined that Alsheyab was removable under U.S. immigration law and took him into custody pending removal proceedings. He had no legal status to remain in the country. ICE officials confirmed that he will remain in detention while his case proceeds through immigration court.
This arrest highlights the agency’s continued efforts to remove individuals who repeatedly break U.S. laws and endanger the public through reckless and unlawful behavior.
