Sergio Michael Alvardo-Sanchez/Honduras/Aggravated Rape, Domestic Assault
On July 17, ICE New Orleans arrested Sergio Michael Alvardo-Sanchez, a 34-year-old citizen of Honduras, due to his extensive and violent criminal history. Alvardo-Sanchez, who is unlawfully present in the United States, has been convicted of multiple heinous crimes, including aggravated rape, aggravated kidnapping, aggravated assault, domestic assault, vandalism, and even aggravated cruelty to animals.
He was taken into ICE custody after local authorities flagged his immigration status during the processing of his charges. The details of his prior offenses reveal a disturbing pattern of violence, including the use of force in sexual crimes and prolonged harm against others. His charge of aggravated kidnapping indicates the unlawful restraint of a victim under particularly threatening circumstances. The aggravated cruelty to animals conviction further illustrates a disregard for life and safety beyond his human victims.
Following his arrest, ICE officers confirmed Alvardo-Sanchez’s prior convictions and initiated immigration proceedings to ensure his removal from the United States. He is currently being held in ICE custody pending those proceedings. Due to the violent and serious nature of his crimes, he has been designated a high-priority case.
Alvardo-Sanchez will not be eligible for release and remains under detention as ICE prepares his case for formal deportation.
