Juan Lopez-Lopez/Guatemala/Driving with Suspended License

by G. George | July 29, 2025

Juan Lopez-Lopez, a 34-year-old citizen of Guatemala, was arrested by Enforcement and Removal Operations (ERO) Seattle officers in Yakima County, Washington. Local authorities had charged Lopez-Lopez with driving with a suspended license, a violation that often accompanies prior driving offenses or unresolved legal obligations. After his apprehension, immigration officials placed him into ICE custody.

Lopez-Lopez had previously undergone removal proceedings and received a final order of removal from an immigration judge. Following his most recent arrest and custody by ICE, he was deported to Guatemala in accordance with that court order. His case serves as another example of how immigration enforcement targets those who remain in the U.S. without lawful status, especially after being involved in criminal or legal infractions.

While his offense may not involve violence or drug-related activity, operating a vehicle without a valid license is taken seriously, especially when committed by individuals who are unlawfully present in the United States. Lopez-Lopez is now back in his home country following the execution of his final removal order.
