Francisco Valencia/Mexico/Lewd Acts With a Minor, DUI

Francisco Valencia, a 35-year-old Mexican national, was arrested by ICE San Diego officers due to his disturbing criminal record. Valencia has a conviction for committing lewd acts with a minor, a serious offense involving child victimization. In addition to that conviction, he also has a separate conviction for driving under the influence, further showing disregard for public safety.

Valencia had been residing unlawfully in the United States following his initial offenses and had not taken steps to regularize his immigration status. After his arrest by ICE, he was placed in immigration detention and is currently being held pending removal proceedings. ICE officials emphasized the severity of his crimes during intake, noting the threat posed by individuals convicted of sex offenses against minors.

The arrest occurred in Southern California following coordination between ICE and local law enforcement. Valencia did not have any pending appeals or legal relief claims and had previously failed to comply with immigration proceedings, which led to the execution of a targeted enforcement action. Authorities confirmed that a detainer was issued to ensure he was transferred directly into ICE custody without release into the community.

He will remain detained as ICE initiates proceedings for his removal from the United States.
