ICE New Orleans officers arrested Alberto Jurado, a citizen of Mexico, for immigration violations following a review of his extensive criminal history. Jurado, who is unlawfully present in the United States, was taken into ICE custody after recent encounters with local law enforcement. His criminal record includes convictions for felony assault, felony harassing communications, voyeurism, and driving while intoxicated (DWI).

Jurado’s offense for felony assault involved a violent physical altercation that resulted in criminal charges and a formal conviction. He was later found guilty of felony harassing communications, a charge often linked to stalking or threatening behavior through repeated, unwanted contact. His voyeurism conviction relates to unlawful visual surveillance, an offense with serious privacy implications. In addition, Jurado has been convicted of DWI, a dangerous offense that places the public at risk.

All of these convictions were entered by state authorities prior to his ICE apprehension. Officers arrested Jurado on immigration grounds, and he is now being held in ICE custody pending removal proceedings. Due to the severity and nature of his offenses, he has been identified as a priority for deportation.

Jurado will remain detained as his immigration case progresses through the legal system.
