Blue state AGs file lawsuit against Trump admin, coddle migrants with free services to gain political power

Besides shifting population demographics across the country, President Joe Biden’s catastrophic open-border policies drew illegal immigrants to the U.S. with little fear of being deported and the promise of free services on the taxpayers’ dime.

New data reveals the foreign-born share of the U.S. population hit record highs in 14 states under Biden. The mass migration also resulted in new population highs in 31 states and the District of Columbia, The Washington Examiner reported.

Even worse, many vulnerable Americans—the homeless, veterans and mentally ill—have been ignored, while Democratic-controlled states have coddled illegal immigrants with free food, hotel rooms and medical services.

On July 21, New York Attorney General Letitia James, a Democrat, filed a lawsuit brought by 20 state attorneys general (as well as their DC equivalent) to keep the welfare state open to illegals.

Under the Personal Responsibility and Work Opportunity Reconciliation Act, the U.S. departments of Health and Human Services, Education, Labor and Justice have reworked requirements to gain access to federal services effective July 10.

James whines the “federal government is pulling that foundation out from under us overnight,” claiming these “safety net programs” provide vital services to low-income individuals and that U.S. citizens and lawful residents could be denied services.

Trump’s February executive order — titled Ending Taxpayer Subsidization of Open Borders — said current social service operations undermine the principles and limitations outlined by Congress in the PRWORA law.

The Hill reported Title IV of PRWORA noted it is policy that migrants without legal status cannot “depend on public resources to meet their needs” and urges the government “to remove the incentive for illegal immigration provided by the availability of public benefits,” as written in a White House release.

“My Administration will uphold the rule of law, defend against the waste of hard-earned taxpayer resources, and protect benefits for American citizens in need, including individuals with disabilities and veterans,” President Trump wrote in the order.

The Trump administration has started placing restrictions on government programs and limiting access to citizens. Trump is cutting off Head Start, educational subsidies for postsecondary programs or access to workforce development grants for illegal immigrants, according to this edict.

The Trump administration maintains these social services are intended for U.S. citizens.

“When illegal aliens exploit these resources, it is at the expense of Americans in desperate need of them,” said Abigail Jackson, Trump’s White House spokeswoman in a statement. “President Trump was elected based on his promise to put Americans first, and that’s exactly what this administration is committed to doing.”

Ironically, if you watch a few videos on New York City’s migrant shelters by YouTuber and independent journalist Nate Friedman, the migrants themselves talk about all the free services they received.

Friedman’s man-on-the-street videos capture migrants loitering around four-star hotels in downtown New York and selling food to the migrants who don’t want to eat the frozen meals supplied by government contractors.

Friedman also exposes who got rich from the migrant crisis and talks to a former Massachusetts shelter director who blows the whistle on the waste. When Friedman visits the hotel-turned-shelter, security officers call the police and threaten him with trespass for inquiring about the taxpayer-funded shelter.

The Center for Immigration Studies think tank said the foreign-born population surge has been “extraordinary,” particularly in the last four years, per CIS’s data analysis.

“The dramatic increase in the foreign-born population is all the more striking because it can grow only from new arrivals — births to immigrants in the United States add only to the native-born,” the CIS report states. “But the number of new arrivals has been so high that it dwarfs outmigration and natural mortality.”

James’ colleagues from Wisconsin, Maine, Nevada, Maryland, Michigan, Minnesota and New Mexico, in addition to other states, have joined the lawsuit. According to CIS, many of those states have experienced a significant surge in illegal immigrants since 2021, including Pennsylvania, Georgia, Maryland, Indiana, Massachusetts, Washington, and Michigan.

Greenfield points out the financial implications of continuing to support millions of illegals through the social welfare complex.

“The admissions that 90% of Democrat states have a major illegal alien drain on their federally funded social welfare programs shows why sanctuary states and cities exist, and why it’s incumbent on the federal government to end the corrupt racket taking money from Americans to give to illegal aliens, abusing our charity and using it to bankrupt our country,” he concludes.
