On January 27, 2025, ICE Chicago administratively arrested a citizen of Honduras, and documented Sureno gang member for Inadmissible Alien and Alien Present After Deportation.

The subject has convictions from both 2007 and 2009 for Retail Theft and was convicted in 2010 for Robbery and in 2014 for Escape. The subject remains in ICE custody.

In a similar case, on February 2, 2025, ICE’s Enforcement and Removal Operations (ERO), working in coordination with the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA), arrested a 33-year-old Mexican national in Reno, Nevada. The individual, identified as an alleged member of the Sureño gang, had been previously ordered removed by an immigration judge on January 31, 2024. Despite that final order of removal, he remained unlawfully present in the United States for over a year before being located by federal authorities.

His criminal history includes multiple convictions for driving under the influence (DUI), as well as charges for evading law enforcement. According to local police records, he had been the subject of multiple traffic-related arrests between 2019 and 2023 and had failed to appear for court hearings on several occasions. ICE identified him as a priority for enforcement due to his gang affiliation and repeated criminal conduct.

He was taken into ICE custody without incident during a targeted operation focused on noncitizens with final removal orders and known criminal histories. At the time of arrest, he had no legal avenues pending to remain in the U.S. He is currently being held in a detention facility in Nevada pending removal proceedings.
