On January 27, 2025, ICE Atlanta administratively arrested two nationals of Venezuela(one pictured) illegally present in the U.S. since July 2024 and May 2023 respectively. The subjects are both members of Tren de Aragua and were remanded to ERO for deportation proceedings.
In a similar case, on February 19, 2025, ICE’s Enforcement and Removal Operations (ERO) in Denver arrested 29-year-old Ender Jose Roa Contreras, a Venezuelan national suspected of affiliation with the Tren de Aragua transnational criminal organization.
Roa Contreras had unlawfully entered the United States through the Paso Del Norte Port of Entry in El Paso, Texas, on August 11, 2023, and was released with a notice to appear in immigration court. He later violated the terms of that release by failing to report as required. On June 11, 2024, Roa Contreras was stopped by Denver police and found to be in possession of a firearm, which he was prohibited from carrying due to his immigration status.
The firearm was confiscated, and a citation was issued. Despite this, Roa Contreras remained at large until his apprehension by ICE in February 2025. He was taken into custody without incident and remains detained pending removal proceedings.
