ICE San Diego arrested Marvin Gomez, a 39-year-old citizen of Guatemala who is unlawfully present in the United States. According to law enforcement records, his criminal history includes entries for child abuse, carrying a concealed weapon, and illegal entry. He was taken into custody in the San Diego area and processed for immigration detention while the administrative case moves forward.

Child abuse statutes penalize conduct that causes or is likely to cause physical injury, emotional harm, or endangerment to a minor. Prosecutors in such matters typically rely on medical documentation, photographs of injuries, victim and caregiver statements, and corroborating witness accounts to establish the elements beyond a reasonable doubt. Protective orders and supervised contact conditions are often imposed as part of pretrial or post conviction supervision when a case proceeds in court.

Carrying a concealed weapon addresses intentionally concealing a firearm or other prohibited weapon on one’s person or in a vehicle without legal authorization. Evidence commonly includes the recovered weapon, officer reports from a lawful stop or search, and body camera or dash camera footage. Illegal entry is a federal offense involving entering the country without inspection or authorization; proof generally consists of immigration records, border crossing data, and sworn statements establishing that no lawful admission occurred.

Following his apprehension, Gomez was booked into immigration custody. He will remain detained while identity is confirmed through biometrics, certified criminal records are obtained, and removal proceedings advance before an immigration judge. If a final order of removal is issued, officials will coordinate travel documentation with the receiving government and arrange transportation in accordance with federal procedures.
