Police, ICE arrest 34 illegal aliens linked to Ohio nightclub shootings

Law enforcement officers arrested 34 individuals early Saturday morning during a joint operation at a nightclub in Fairfield, Ohio, following a string of violent incidents, including two shootings in the past two months.

According to the Fairfield Police Department, the operation targeted the Sabor Peruano Night Club, which authorities say has been the site of escalating criminal activity. Investigators linked recent shootings in the area to the club and began coordinating with U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement and federal partners once they discovered that many of the individuals frequenting the establishment were in the country illegally.

Police confirmed that ICE and other federal agencies were brought in due to the expectation that several individuals on site could be unlawfully present in the U.S. and potentially armed.

A total of 34 people were taken into custody and transported to the Butler County Jail. Butler County Sheriff Richard Jones confirmed that all 34 arrestees are illegal aliens.

“The Fairfield Police Department is committed to maintaining the safety and well-being of our diverse community, and we value the strong relationships we’ve built with our residents and businesses,” the department said in a public statement. “While we support local establishments, we must also ensure that all operations comply with the law and will not tolerate behavior that compromises public safety.”

Authorities stated that the club owners were previously made aware of ongoing safety concerns but have failed to take corrective action.

“As such, we will continue to closely monitor the situation and allocate resources as necessary to ensure the safety of our community,” the department added.

The arrests come as local law enforcement across the country increasingly partner with federal immigration agencies to crack down on crime involving illegal aliens. Saturday’s coordinated action marks one of the largest recent ICE-support operations in Ohio tied to public safety threats.
