A criminal illegal alien recently charged with murder after driving drunk and killing six passengers was previously released in California despite a 2024 detainer request by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement.
ICE put in the detainer request for Beto Cerillo-Bialva, who also goes by the name Norberto Celerino, after his third drunk driving arrest in 2024, a request that was ignored since California is a sanctuary state, The Daily Wire reported on Wednesday.
ICE lodged a detainer request with California authorities for this illegal from Mexico.
They refused the request because of sanctuary city policies.
He then kiIIed six people while drunk driving.

The U.S. Department of Homeland Security confirmed the report, adding that Cerillo-Bialva, who’s from Mexico, has been deported seven times and also has a criminal history aside from the DUIs that includes possession of cocaine, driving without a license, and violating a domestic abuse restraining order.
Cerillo-Bialva was allegedly driving drunk in Napa County on September 7 and crashed, killing six passengers who were also migrant workers. He faces six counts of murder.

“This serial criminal killed six innocent souls. Governor Newsom has blood on his hands. This serial criminal should have never been released by California authorities,” DHS Assistant Secretary Tricia McLaughlin said in a statement. “Sanctuary policies protect the WORST OF THE WORST criminal illegal aliens. ICE will do everything in our power to remove this serial drunk driver, abuser, and drug user from our country.”

The California governor’s office told KTVU earlier this week that ICE putting the blame on the state’s sanctuary status “is an attempt to distract from the truth.”
“This individual re-entered the country several times under the federal government’s watch. Trump and Miller have little interest in public safety or protecting farmworkers,” a spokesperson said.
