Maria Alejandra Gamarro-Quinonez/Guatemala/Child Endangerment, Abandonment, Theft
Guatemalan national Maria Alejandra Gamarro-Quinonez first entered the United States legally on a visitor visa but failed to depart by her required April 27, 2007 deadline, becoming unlawfully present.
Local authorities later arrested her in New Jersey’s Sussex County Jail for theft on August 14, 2013, where immigration officers encountered her; she was released on a $2,000 bond with instructions to appear before an immigration judge.
On April 1, 2025, a judge in Chelmsford, Massachusetts, issued a final order of removal. Gamarro-Quinonez was arrested again on November 10 in Graham, Texas, while reporting for probation after a judge deferred adjudication in a child endangerment and abandonment case.
She is now in ICE custody pending removal and is classified as a criminal alien offender and public-safety risk.
