Jose Alejandro Alvarado/El Salvador/Sexual Assault on a Child

Jose Alejandro Alvarado, a criminal illegal alien from El Salvador arrested in Minneapolis on Jan. 7, has been convicted of sexual assault on a child, a serious felony involving the exploitation of a minor. The conviction reflects a court finding that Alvarado engaged in unlawful sexual conduct with a child, an offense that carries significant prison penalties and long-term registration requirements under sex offender laws.

Following his conviction, Alvarado became subject to immigration enforcement actions due to both his unlawful status in the United States and the severity of his crime against a minor. Authorities consider such offenders high-priority cases for detention and removal, and Alvarado now faces immigration proceedings that will determine whether he is deported after completion of his criminal sentence.

“In the face of violent attacks, ICE law enforcement arrested pedophiles, rapists, and drug traffickers in Minneapolis yesterday,” Assistant Secretary Tricia McLaughlin said in a news release. “Every single day our law enforcement officers put their lives on the line to arrest the worst of the worst criminal illegal aliens from American communities. We will not let rioters slow us down from making Minnesota safe again—something Governor Walz and Mayor Frey REFUSED to do.”
