Federal immigration authorities arrested Mexican national Jaime Tirado-Hernandez in Lino Lakes, Minnesota, as part of Operation Metro Surge targeting criminal illegal aliens in the state. Tirado-Hernandez, an identified member of the Surenos 13 gang, was previously convicted in 2006 of second-degree murder for the benefit of a gang and second-degree assault for the benefit of a gang following a jury trial.

He received a sentence of 328 months for the murder conviction with an additional 48 months consecutive sentence for the assault conviction. Minnesota Department of Corrections records indicate Tirado-Hernandez was placed under supervised release on January 8, 2026.

The Department of Homeland Security has classified Tirado-Hernandez as among the “worst of the worst” criminal illegal aliens arrested during the ongoing federal immigration enforcement operation in Minnesota, which has resulted in over 2,000 arrests since December 2025.
