Oscar Lopez-Sandoval/Mexico/Domestic Violence
In May 2025, ICE Enforcement and Removal Operations (ERO) Seattle arrested Oscar Lopez-Sandoval, a Mexican national unlawfully present in the United States. Lopez-Sandoval was taken into custody in Washington State following his release from local custody. His criminal history includes multiple convictions for domestic violence, hit and run involving death or serious injury, and violating a court-issued protective order.
Lopez-Sandoval’s record includes a domestic violence case in which he physically assaulted a household member, resulting in injuries that required medical attention. In a separate incident, he was convicted of fleeing the scene of a vehicle crash that caused serious injury. Court records state that he failed to render aid or notify authorities, leading to felony charges and a custodial sentence. Additionally, Lopez-Sandoval had a history of violating a protective order that had been issued to safeguard a victim from further harm. That violation resulted in further criminal charges and extended supervision.
Due to the repeated and serious nature of these offenses, ICE officers prioritized him for enforcement action. ERO Seattle lodged an immigration detainer with local authorities, which was honored, allowing a coordinated transfer into ICE custody. An immigration judge had already issued a final order of removal in 2023, following his earlier failure to appear in court.
Lopez-Sandoval is currently held in ICE custody and will remain detained pending deportation to Mexico.
