Eleodoro Sebastian-Mateo/Guatemala/Sexual Assault
On May 26, 2025, ICE Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) and the Northern Colorado Homeland Security Task Force arrested Eleodoro Sebastian-Mateo, a Guatemalan national, following an extensive investigation. Sebastian-Mateo was convicted of sexually assaulting a 4-year-old child and had been evading immigration enforcement efforts in the region. His case was elevated in priority due to the severity of his crime and his undocumented presence in the United States.
Acting on intelligence gathered over the course of several weeks, ICE HSI agents coordinated with local and federal partners to locate Sebastian-Mateo. He was apprehended without incident and transported to a secure detention facility in Colorado, where he remains in ICE custody pending removal proceedings. ICE records confirm that Sebastian-Mateo had no lawful immigration status in the U.S., and that his previous criminal conviction made him subject to mandatory detention.
Officials emphasized the importance of collaborative efforts with regional homeland security partners in locating individuals convicted of serious crimes who pose a threat to public safety. Sebastian-Mateo’s conviction for an offense involving a minor and his unlawful status in the country made him a target for enforcement action. He will remain detained throughout the removal process, and his case is being reviewed by immigration authorities.
