On May 23, 2025, ICE Enforcement and Removal Operations (ERO) Denver arrested Jose Guadalupe Alvidrez-Ubanda, a 33-year-old Mexican national with a serious criminal history involving narcotics trafficking. Alvidrez-Ubanda had previously been convicted for conspiracy to distribute methamphetamine, a federal offense that involved the possession and planned distribution of large quantities of controlled substances.

His arrest occurred during a targeted operation in the Denver area focusing on individuals with prior convictions for drug trafficking and other felony offenses who are illegally present in the United States. Alvidrez-Ubanda had unlawfully re-entered the country after previously being deported and failed to obtain legal status upon his return.

Following his apprehension, ICE officers confirmed his identity and criminal history, and processed him for removal based on the reinstatement of a prior order. His narcotics conviction contributed to ICE prioritizing his arrest, as individuals involved in drug trafficking are considered significant threats due to the impact such crimes have on communities.

Alvidrez-Ubanda is currently being held in ICE custody at a detention facility in Colorado. He will remain there pending the outcome of his immigration proceedings and is expected to be removed from the United States upon completion of the process.
