ICE Enforcement and Removal Operations (ERO) New Orleans arrested Abdirashid Ali Ibrahim, a citizen of Somalia, during a targeted enforcement action based on his extensive criminal record and unlawful presence in the United States. Ibrahim has a violent history, including a homicide conviction, making him a significant public safety concern.

According to law enforcement records, Ibrahim’s criminal past includes a conviction for homicide in addition to seven separate charges for assault and four charges for domestic violence. He has also been arrested and convicted for two DUIs, burglary, larceny, and a weapons offense. Further offenses include harassing communication and contempt of court, indicating repeated disregard for both public safety and the judicial system.

Ibrahim has been encountered multiple times by law enforcement across several jurisdictions. His criminal acts span a wide spectrum of violent, dangerous, and disruptive conduct, which triggered his placement into ICE custody following his latest arrest. Immigration officers determined that his history warranted immediate detention and placed him into removal proceedings.

Ibrahim, who does not have legal status in the U.S., is currently being held in ICE detention while he awaits an immigration judge’s ruling on his deportation case. No bond has been granted.
