Adalberto Torres-Barron, a 45-year-old illegal alien and citizen of Mexico, was arrested by Enforcement and Removal Operations (ERO) New Orleans due to his involvement in a major drug trafficking case. Torres-Barron has a criminal conviction for conspiracy to possess with intent to distribute methamphetamine, a federal felony offense that stems from a large-scale narcotics investigation targeting cartel-affiliated traffickers operating within the United States.

According to case records, Torres-Barron was involved in coordinating and facilitating methamphetamine deliveries, including cross-border transactions tied to transnational criminal organizations. Law enforcement agents tracked phone records, intercepted shipments, and executed multiple search warrants that ultimately led to his arrest and conviction. The court sentenced him to a term in federal prison, which he completed before being turned over to ICE custody.

Torres-Barron illegally entered the United States without inspection and has no legal basis to remain in the country. Following his release from Bureau of Prisons custody, ERO New Orleans immediately took him into custody to initiate removal proceedings. His arrest is part of a targeted enforcement effort to apprehend illegal aliens with serious felony convictions, particularly those tied to the illegal drug trade.

ICE has confirmed that Torres-Barron will remain in detention while his case proceeds through the immigration court system.
