by G. George | June 20, 2025

Alberto Bracamontes, a 39-year-old citizen of Mexico, was arrested by Enforcement and Removal Operations (ERO) New Orleans following an investigation into his criminal record and immigration status. Bracamontes has an extensive and serious criminal history that includes robbery with a weapon—an offense involving the use or threat of violence to take property from another individual, posing a significant public safety concern. He has also been convicted of possession of a controlled substance, further highlighting his involvement in unlawful activity related to drug offenses.

In addition to these crimes, Bracamontes was found to have used false identification documents in an attempt to conceal his identity and immigration status. Such fraudulent activity undermines the integrity of government systems and complicates enforcement efforts. Furthermore, records confirm that Bracamontes had previously been deported from the United States and illegally re-entered the country, violating federal immigration laws under 8 USC § 1326.

Following his arrest, Bracamontes was taken into ICE custody without incident. He will be held pending further immigration proceedings. His repeated violations of both state and federal laws, combined with his prior deportation, make him a priority for removal. Authorities are continuing to evaluate his case and process him accordingly through the immigration court system.
