On February 3, 2025, ICE Atlanta arrested Aldo Castaneda-Aguilar, a citizen of Mexico. Castaneda has been convicted of homicide by vehicle and hit and run and sentenced to a five months confinement and years’ probation.

In another case, on March 12, 2025, ICE’s Enforcement and Removal Operations (ERO) apprehended 24-year-old Guatemalan national Joel Sac-Tambriz in Tarrant County, Texas.

Sac-Tambriz had previously been removed from the United States but unlawfully reentered at an unknown date and location. He was wanted by local authorities in connection with a fatal hit-and-run incident that occurred on June 9, 2024. According to police reports, Sac-Tambriz was driving without a license when he struck a 30-year-old pedestrian and fled the scene. The victim later died from injuries sustained during the collision.

Local law enforcement issued a warrant for his arrest following the incident. ICE officers located Sac-Tambriz during a targeted enforcement operation focused on individuals with outstanding warrants or serious criminal charges. He was taken into custody without incident and transferred to a detention facility in Texas.

He remains in ICE custody pending removal proceedings. No lawful status or immigration relief was on record at the time of his arrest.
