Alejandro Hernandez/Honduras/Felony Domestic Violence, Failure to Appear

by G. George | August 10, 2025

ICE Enforcement and Removal Operations (ERO) New Orleans arrested Alejandro Hernandez, a citizen of Honduras who is unlawfully present in the United States. Hernandez has a criminal record that includes a felony conviction for domestic violence as well as six separate instances of failing to appear for scheduled court proceedings.

The felony domestic violence conviction involved a violent incident resulting in serious injury to a household member. Law enforcement records indicate that Hernandez was uncooperative during his initial arrest and was later released pending further court action. However, he repeatedly failed to appear at mandated hearings, accumulating six failure-to-appear violations across multiple jurisdictions.

After confirming Hernandez’s presence in the U.S. without legal authorization, ERO officers apprehended him during a targeted enforcement operation aimed at individuals with unresolved criminal charges and convictions. He was taken into ICE custody without incident and transferred to a detention facility to await immigration proceedings.

Given the nature of his criminal offenses and his pattern of avoiding legal accountability, ICE has determined that Hernandez will remain in custody throughout the duration of his removal case. His actions triggered enforcement under ICE’s mandate to identify and detain foreign nationals convicted of serious crimes and those who fail to comply with the judicial process.
