Alfredo Juarez Barrientos/Mexico/Robbery, DUI, Assault

by G. George | June 18, 2025

Alfredo Juarez Barrientos, a 36-year-old illegal alien and citizen of Mexico, was arrested by Enforcement and Removal Operations (ERO) New Orleans during a targeted enforcement action. Barrientos has an extensive criminal history in the United States that includes a conviction for robbery, a serious offense that involved the use or threat of force against another person. In addition to robbery, he has a documented conviction for domestic assault, an act of violence that reflects a threat to household or intimate partners. He also has a conviction for driving under the influence (DUI), endangering others on public roadways.

Barrientos had previously entered the United States illegally and does not possess lawful immigration status. His repeated criminal behavior, especially offenses involving violence and endangerment, led immigration authorities to prioritize him for enforcement and apprehension. His DUI conviction is particularly concerning due to the associated risks to public safety, especially when combined with his history of violent conduct.

ERO officers located and arrested Barrientos without incident. He will remain in ICE custody pending immigration removal proceedings. Officials stated that Barrientos’ combination of prior convictions and illegal presence in the U.S. made him a priority for enforcement action. ICE is pursuing all appropriate legal avenues to ensure that Barrientos is removed from the country in accordance with federal law and immigration court orders, following the conclusion of his proceedings.
