by G. George | August 05, 2025

On July 30, U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement’s Enforcement and Removal Operations (ERO) Philadelphia field office arrested Ancuta Frunza, a Romanian national, shortly after her release from Cumberland County Prison in Pennsylvania. Frunza has an extensive criminal history involving property crimes across several states.

Authorities in Missouri, Virginia, Maryland, and Pennsylvania have all previously arrested Frunza for grand larceny and other related offenses. Her arrests have involved coordinated retail theft schemes, larcenies involving high-value goods, and suspected participation in organized criminal theft rings that operate across state lines. Most recently, she was convicted of retail theft in Cumberland County, Pennsylvania, and served time before ICE took her into custody.

Frunza is currently being held in ICE custody and will remain detained pending the outcome of her immigration proceedings. Given her repeated arrests in multiple jurisdictions and her recent conviction, ICE has taken steps to initiate removal proceedings against her. ERO Philadelphia continues to pursue individuals with serious or repeated criminal offenses who are unlawfully present in the United States.
