Angel Palafox-Montes/Mexico/Grand Theft
Miguel Angel Palafox-Montes, an illgal immigrant with a lengthy criminal history, was arrested by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement for immigration violations. Palafox-Montes has prior criminal convictions that include grand theft, drug-related offenses, and identity theft. These convictions stem from multiple incidents across different jurisdictions and have resulted in periods of incarceration, probation, and financial penalties. Law enforcement reports also indicate that he has been arrested on additional charges, including battery and burglary, further adding to his record of violent and property-related crimes.
Palafox-Montes had previously been returned to Mexico on two occasions through voluntary departure. Despite these removals, he reentered the United States without authorization and remained unlawfully present. His repeated return and ongoing criminal conduct prompted renewed interest from ICE Enforcement and Removal Operations officers, who located and arrested him during targeted enforcement actions.
At the time of his arrest, Palafox-Montes was not only out of status but was also the subject of local investigations related to recent theft activity. He is currently being held in ICE custody without bond while removal proceedings are underway. ICE officials stated that due to the seriousness of his offenses and his repeated unauthorized entries into the U.S., he will remain detained while his immigration case proceeds.
