U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement officers have arrested Angelo Dennis-Jesus Ainaga-Jaspe, a Venezuelan national and identified member of the Tren de Aragua gang, following a weapons offense conviction. The arrest highlights ongoing federal efforts to target gang-affiliated individuals posing threats to public safety.

According to ICE officials, Ainaga-Jaspe entered the United States illegally and became associated with Tren de Aragua, a transnational criminal organization originating in Venezuela. The gang has expanded operations across multiple countries and is known for engaging in violent crimes, extortion, and weapons trafficking. Authorities say Ainaga-Jaspe was convicted on weapons charges prior to his immigration arrest.

ICE Enforcement and Removal Operations took Ainaga-Jaspe into custody as part of targeted enforcement actions against individuals with gang affiliations and criminal convictions. He is currently being held pending removal proceedings. Officials state that gang members who enter the country illegally and commit crimes will face deportation following completion of any criminal sentences.

“Our officers remain focused on removing dangerous gang members and criminals from American communities,” an ICE spokesperson stated. The agency continues to prioritize enforcement against transnational gang members operating in the United States.

Ainaga-Jaspe’s case underscores federal immigration enforcement cooperation with local law enforcement agencies to identify and apprehend gang-affiliated foreign nationals with criminal records.
