Aubin Liberte

Aubin Liberte/Haiti/Drug Trafficking

by G. George | August 28, 2025

ICE New Orleans deported Aubin Liberte, a citizen of Haiti. Court records reflect a felony conviction for drug trafficking, for which Liberte received a thirty year sentence. After the criminal case concluded and custodial transfer was authorized, immigration officers assumed custody based on his removability under federal law and initiated repatriation procedures to return him to his country of citizenship.

Drug trafficking prosecutions focus on moving controlled substances into illegal commerce. Investigations typically rely on seized quantities consistent with resale, packaging materials, digital scales, ledgers or payment records, intercepted communications that coordinate deliveries or pickups, and surveillance documenting meetings or transport routes. Laboratory confirmations establish the identity and purity of seized substances, while device extractions and location data can tie a subject to stash sites, couriers, or distribution hubs. A conviction and substantial sentence indicate the court found the statutory elements proved beyond a reasonable doubt and assessed the offense as a significant trafficking operation.

Removal processing for Liberte included biometric identity verification, assembly of certified judgment and sentencing documents, and coordination of travel authorization with the Government of Haiti. Once documentation and routing were finalized, officers scheduled a repatriation itinerary in accordance with transport and security protocols and escorted Liberte throughout the transfer.

Upon arrival overseas, custody transferred to Haitian authorities for any actions deemed appropriate under local law. The deportation closes the United States custody portion of the immigration matter associated with his conviction. The certified criminal judgment and associated records remain in the permanent immigration file and will be considered in any future admissibility determinations should he seek lawful entry at a later date.
