On April 19, 2025, ICE Enforcement and Removal Operations (ERO) Denver arrested Aurelio Hernandez-Reyna, a Mexican national and fugitive criminal alien unlawfully present in the United States. The arrest followed targeted enforcement efforts to locate individuals with unresolved criminal histories and outstanding immigration violations.

Hernandez-Reyna has a record that includes multiple arrests, most notably for driving under the influence (DUI) and criminal mischief. Though not yet convicted on all charges, his pattern of arrests raised public safety concerns and flagged him as a priority for immigration enforcement. ICE officers apprehended Hernandez-Reyna without incident and transported him to a secure detention facility in Colorado.

Upon arrest, ICE confirmed that Hernandez-Reyna did not hold lawful immigration status and had no applications pending for relief. Additionally, records indicate that he had been evading prior removal efforts, classifying him as a fugitive. Based on his immigration history and criminal conduct, ICE determined that immediate custody and removal proceedings were appropriate.

Hernandez-Reyna will remain in ICE detention pending his case before an immigration judge. If removal is approved, ICE will coordinate with Mexican authorities to facilitate his deportation.
