Bokar Soko

Bokar Soko/Islamic Republic of Mauritania/Counterfeiting Second Degree

by G. George | December 23, 2025

Bokar Soko, a citizen of Mauritania, entered the United States illegally on May 24, 2023, as part of a 26‑person caravan and was released into the interior after initial processing.

Homeland Security officials later identified him in an ICE Canal Street operation in New York City as a “criminal illegal alien” with three prior arrests for second-degree counterfeiting.

Those counterfeiting second-degree arrests involve affixing fraudulent trademarks to goods valued above statutory thresholds, tying him to the counterfeit merchandise trade rather than mere possession of a single fake item.

Public reports do not list the jurisdictions, case numbers, or disposition of each counterfeiting arrest, nor do they describe his current immigration-court status, bond history, or any additional criminal charges beyond counterfeiting. Officials emphasize his unlawful entry, rapid release, and repeat counterfeiting arrests as justification for renewed immigration enforcement attention.
