Brenda Ampudia Tocto/Peru/Larceny
Peruvian national Brenda Ampudia Tocto was arrested in Macomb County, Michigan, in connection with a large-scale retail larceny scheme targeting Ulta Beauty stores in multiple jurisdictions, according to Shelby Township police and local media reports. Investigators allege that Ampudia Tocto, based out of New York, worked with two other women to steal more than $250,000 in merchandise from Ulta locations in Michigan and Ohio, including stores in Shelby Township, Troy, Lapeer, and Toledo. The women were detained in Ohio after FLOCK camera hits led officers to a suspect vehicle where additional stolen goods were recovered.
All three suspects were extradited to Michigan and lodged at the Macomb County Jail, where Ampudia Tocto faces felony retail fraud and organized retail crime charges consistent with high-value larceny conduct under state law. Jail and police records indicate that Immigration and Customs Enforcement placed a detainer on her, and she also faces multiple out-of-state detainers tied to organized retail theft investigations in Virginia, Massachusetts, Georgia, and Florida.
