On February 4, 2025, ICE Washington arrested Carlos Alberto Sosa-Horellana (pictured), a citizen of Honduras. Sosa has been convicted of rape and sentenced to 80 years in prison.

In another case, on February 14, 2025, ICE’s Enforcement and Removal Operations (ERO) St. Paul removed Oscar Alexander Cruz Rodriguez, a 29-year-old citizen of Honduras, to his home country. Cruz Rodriguez had been identified as a foreign fugitive wanted in El Salvador for the rape of a minor. Prior to his removal, he had been taken into ICE custody following a targeted enforcement action focused on noncitizens with serious criminal charges or convictions.

According to official records, Cruz Rodriguez had entered the U.S. without authorization and was flagged by immigration authorities after his criminal warrant in El Salvador was discovered. He was processed for removal after an immigration judge issued a final order of removal. ERO officers escorted him via commercial flight to El Salvador, where he was turned over to local authorities.

He had no pending appeals or legal motions at the time of his removal.
