Cesar Lopez
Cesar Lopez/Honduras/DUI, Drug Possession
Cesar Lopez, a 35-year-old citizen of Honduras and an illegal alien in the United States, was arrested by Enforcement and Removal Operations (ERO) New Orleans. Lopez has a criminal history that includes both substance-related offenses and violations indicating a disregard for the law and public safety.
Lopez was previously convicted of driving under the influence (DUI), a dangerous offense that endangered both pedestrians and other motorists. In addition to the DUI, he has a conviction for simple possession of drugs, for which he received probation. Authorities found narcotics during a traffic stop in which Lopez was also found driving without a license.
He was also arrested for using a false ID in an attempt to conceal his true identity during a law enforcement encounter. This act of deception further complicated his legal status and added another charge to his growing criminal record. According to arrest reports, the false ID was intended to avoid detection due to his prior offenses and lack of legal status in the U.S.
In addition to these offenses, Lopez violated the terms of his probation related to a prior conviction. This violation led to a bench warrant and his eventual apprehension by immigration authorities. He has never held lawful immigration status and has no pending relief that would allow him to remain in the U.S.
Lopez will remain in ICE custody pending the outcome of his immigration proceedings, which could result in removal to Honduras.
