Chanthala Insisiengmay/Laos/Indecent Behavior with Juveniles
ICE Enforcement and Removal Operations (ERO) New Orleans arrested Chanthala Insisiengmay, a citizen of Laos who is unlawfully present in the United States. Insisiengmay has a criminal conviction for indecent behavior with juveniles, a charge involving the exploitation of a minor which led to a formal adjudication in a Louisiana state court.
According to court records, the offense involved inappropriate contact with a minor under the age of 17. Insisiengmay was sentenced following his conviction and served time in custody. He was later released under community supervision but was located again by immigration authorities due to his illegal status in the U.S. and the severity of the crime.
ERO officers conducted a targeted enforcement action and arrested Insisiengmay without incident. Following his arrest, he was transported to a detention facility where he will remain in ICE custody pending the outcome of his immigration proceedings. Officials have confirmed that a final order of removal may be issued, depending on the results of his upcoming hearing.
Insisiengmay’s arrest underscores ICE’s identification of removable aliens who pose a danger to minors and who have previously been convicted of sexually exploitative offenses. His prior conviction has made him a priority for removal due to the risk to public safety.
