Chia Vue/Laos/Aggravated Assault With Weapon, Domestic Violence, Terroristic Threats
Laotian national Chia Neng Vue, a criminal illegal alien, was arrested at his home in Coon Rapids, Minnesota, when ICE officers arrived early one Saturday morning to take him into custody for deportation to Laos. According to coverage of his case, Vue’s Minnesota record includes convictions for terroristic threats with reckless disregard for risk in 2011 and domestic abuse violating a no‑contact order in 2012, along with additional offenses that local reporting has grouped under domestic-violence and public‑safety concerns.
Vue told reporters he had long feared this day, describing the arrest as “a tear in my heart,” while advocates noted that he is one of roughly two dozen long‑time Hmong residents with old assault and threat convictions now facing removal. After his arrest in Coon Rapids, he was placed into federal detention, where officials are weighing his history of violent threats, domestic violence, and related offenses as they decide on his deportation to Laos.
