Chouane Senevongsa/Laos/Criminal Sexual Conduct

On February 18, 2025, U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement St. Paul arrested Chouane Senevongsa, a citizen of Laos. Senevongsa has been convicted of criminal sexual conduct with a child under 16 and sentenced to 180 months in prison.

Shortly before, on January 29,2025, ICE Columbus, Ohio, apprehended a citizen of Ghana who was convicted of sex crimes with a minor. Officers arrested Joseph Osei Boateng.

The Ghanaian national legally entered the U.S. in 2019. He was convicted of two counts of unlawful sexual conduct with a minor by the Franklin County Court of Common Pleas in October 2024.

Boateng remains in ICE custody pending the outcome of his immigration proceedings.

“Our ICE team will continue to identify and apprehend individuals amenable to removal who have victimized our most vulnerable population”  said ICE Enforcement and Removal Operations Detroit Field Office Director Robert Lynch.
