Cristian Ortiz-Quintero/Colombia/Possession of Child Pornography x9

ICE Washington D.C. officers arrested Cristian Ortiz-Quintero, a 40-year-old criminal alien from Colombia, on July 15. Ortiz-Quintero was previously convicted of nine separate counts of possession of child pornography in the Commonwealth of Virginia. These felony convictions stemmed from a disturbing case involving the digital storage and collection of explicit material depicting minors.

Ortiz-Quintero had remained in the United States illegally after violating the terms of his visa and was considered a significant enforcement priority due to the nature of his crimes. He had completed a portion of his state-level sentence before being transferred to federal custody. ICE Enforcement and Removal Operations officers apprehended him in northern Virginia without incident.

Following his arrest, Ortiz-Quintero was issued a notice of intent to remove based on both his immigration violations and the severity of his criminal record. He is currently being held in ICE custody pending the outcome of his removal proceedings. Due to the nature of his convictions and his unlawful presence, he is not eligible for release while the case is adjudicated.

ICE officials confirmed that Ortiz-Quintero poses a significant risk to public safety and will remain detained until he is deported from the United States.
