Denis Ramos/Honduras/Aggravated Assault

by G. George | June 17, 2025

Denis Ramos, a citizen of Honduras, was deported by Enforcement and Removal Operations (ERO) New Orleans following his conviction for aggravated assault against a family member involving strongarm force. Ramos had been residing in the United States illegally and was identified as a priority for removal due to his violent criminal history.

His case was brought to the attention of ICE after his conviction, which involved a serious domestic violence offense. The charge of aggravated assault—family—strongarm typically involves the use of physical force or threats to harm a family or household member and is considered a significant public safety concern. Upon completion of his sentence, Ramos was taken into ICE custody to face immigration proceedings.

An immigration judge ordered Ramos removed from the United States based on his unlawful presence and criminal record. Following standard procedures, ICE coordinated with the government of Honduras to facilitate his removal. On the date of deportation, Ramos was transported via ICE Air Operations and turned over to authorities in Honduras without incident.

Ramos had no legal grounds to remain in the country and had exhausted all avenues of relief. His removal was carried out as part of ICE’s continued efforts to identify, detain, and deport foreign nationals who have committed serious crimes in the United States.
